The Most Common Plumbing Faults at Home and How to Spot Them Early

Most plumbing faults don't happen overnight — they're usually preceded by small signs that are easy to miss in the rush of everyday life. Spotting them early can save you from much bigger damage later.
A damp patch on a wall or ceiling that slowly spreads often means a hidden leak inside the installation, even if the surface dries out after a while. The same goes for a persistent musty smell in the bathroom that doesn't go away even after airing the room.
A dripping trap under the sink or basin seems harmless, but over time it erodes the cabinet material and can damage the floor. It's worth fixing small things like this as soon as you notice them, rather than waiting for the problem to worsen on its own.
Weaker water pressure or unusual noises in the pipes sometimes signal limescale build-up or the start of corrosion, especially in older buildings. Checking the visible parts of the installation once or twice a year helps you catch these issues while they're still cheap to fix.
